Welcome to Jazz Dance Class

Make your moves noticeable with Symphony's Jazz Dance Classes!

Jazz dance has a long history that extends back to the 1600s. However, jazz dance emerged commercially in 1950 and hit the stage. It is challenging to mention jazz music legends such as Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Ray Brown, Wayne Shorter, and Lionel Hampton. In their respective era, the jazz clubs in America were filled with young Afro-American dancers. Africans have taken to America as enslaved, giving birth to jazz music and dance. During World War I, the dance style was named “jazz.” In the New Orleans areas, it grew alongside jazz music. New choreographers and dancers emerged due to the dance form’s experimentation, and the elite gained notoriety and acclaim in movies and Broadway productions. Our jazz dance classes main goal is to build solid jazz dancing foundations in a friendly and secure setting.

Our most popular genre is jazz, and as students advance through age levels, they enjoy developing skills. Jazz performance students will learn Broadway and commercial styles for performances and contests. Various dance moves and footwork may be found in jazz. Our Jazz choreographer will constantly work with you to excel in unique flare and technique, such as Ball change, Pas de bourree, jazz square, jazz walk and Pirouette. We offer jazz dance lessons for beginners and advanced students. We recognise that enrolling in jazz classes as a grown-up can be intimidating, particularly if you’re joining a group of students who have been taking lessons for a while. We provide adult Jazz classes that are suitable for beginners and for the more experienced dancers

With our jazz dance lessons for all levels, we can help you learn and improve your dancing. For further information, see us at 314 Mount Alexander Road, Travancore, Victoria 3032, Australia, call us at 0493 529 046, or email us at info@symphonyofdance.com.au. Let’s start!

Every student has access to two trial lessons ($25 each, deducted from term fees) before deciding to sign up for the entire year. This, in our opinion, is the best way to guarantee that the class is appropriate for you and your child and that they will enjoy it. Register your interest now, and we’ll get in touch with you to set up your trial lessons.

We all need to practise if we want to get better, especially when tests, events, or performances are coming up. To advance, develop their abilities, and reach their dance goals, all dancers should practise at home once a week and gently stretch each day. How? Ask your teacher!

If you miss a class during the term, we encourage you to make up that class in another class during the week. Speak to your teacher or reception to find a suitable make up class.
