Ballroom Dance Class

Ballroom dancing is an umbrella term for a variety of partnership dances, such as the Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha and Jive rather than a specific kind of dance. These dances are identical in style and share a variety of traits. With its gliding, graceful moves and unique smooth-flowing motion, ballroom dance is a popular competition dance worldwide. In Australia, it includes the a form of sequence dancing known as New Vogue.

The ballroom is a well-known dance style ideal for those who want to improve their endurance while adding some elegance and charm to their lives. Symphony Of Dance offers ballroom lessons for all skill levels, from amateurs to experienced dancers. Our classes are suitable for singles and couples! You will make new friends and begin a healthy lifestyle when you book with us.

History Of Ball Dance!

Ballroom dancing has a long, glorious, and sometimes contentious history, first appearing in historical texts in the 16th century.

Ballroom dancing had a reputation as a dance confined to the most privileged members of society, derived from the Latin word ‘Ballare,’ which means ‘to dance.’ Its refinement and elegance were regarded as stunning and ‘relevant’ compared to the sensuality and energy of other ‘less savoury’ dances popular with the lower classes at the time.

The tight hold and proximity of the partners, with the man’s arm resting around the woman’s waist, was seen as entirely controversial by the privileged of society when it first gained popularity. The upper classes later adopted the dance, and the limits between the classes began to erode. Ballroom dancing became a loved dance form across the world.

How to get started learning ballroom dancing

If you want to learn ballroom dancing, we’ll begin with the fundamentals of the Foxtrot, which is a great place to start for this lovely, graceful dance form. You will have the basics for all other ballroom styles if you learn the Foxtrot first.

Ballroom dancing is popular among people of all ages because of its unique flowing motions. Symphony Of Dance provides a variety of options for those who desire to learn more about this simple and graceful dance style.

We will tailor a lesson plan to your personality, routine, and level of spending, whether you are a couple or single, a complete beginner or an advanced dancer.

We all need to practise if we want to get better, especially when tests, events, or performances are coming up. To advance, develop their abilities, and reach their dance goals, all dancers should practise at home once a week and gently stretch each day. How? Ask your teacher!

If you miss a class during the term, we encourage you to make up that class in another class during the week. Speak to your teacher or reception to find a suitable make up class.
